How To Make Molé Nectar

Holé Molé Cocktail

We are making a molé nectar to use in cocktails. The idea for turning molé into a beverage came from one of our trips to Puerto Vallarta. We had dinner at a wonderful restaurant called Tintoqué and they served a molé cocktail that made an impression on us and then we had to come up with our own version.

Molé Nectar is naturally gluten free

The Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Molé
  • 1 Cup Almond Milk
  • 1/2 Cup Water

We want to start with some molé. When we make molé we always have some to freeze in one cup portions so we can just use one of those. You can use any of the following molé recipes to get some of your own.

Put the Molé In the Blender

We just want to add one cup of molé to the blender.

Add Almond Milk and Water

Next we need to add about 1 1/2 cups of liquid. You could just use water but this can be elevated by using a mix of almond milk and water. We use 1 cup almond milk and 1/2 cup of water.

Blend

Blend this until it forms a fairly smooth liquid. It will still be a little thick and that’s what we want.

Strain the Nectar

After that we just need to strain the nectar through a fine mesh strainer. This will take a little effort to push the nectar through the strainer with a serving spoon or rubber spatula but then you will have a smooth molé nectar.

Store In the Refrigerator

Then pour the resultant liquid into a bottle to store in the refrigerator. Now you have a drinkable form of molé. You can use it to make the Holé Molé Cocktail and you can have fun thinking up other uses for it later. Maybe in a Caucasian.
