We make all manner of gluten free salads frequently here at the 2 Cooks. Salads with lettuce, salads with kale, potatoes, corn, tomatoes, whatever we can think of. We like to make them look wonderful and we grow a lot of edible flowers just for that purpose. Some of the flowers are:
- Borage
- Snapdragons
- Chive Flowers
- Marigold
- Calendula
- Viola
- Pansy
- Rose Petals
- Onion Flowers
- Crocosmia
- Dahlia Petals
These are just some of the flowers in our garden. You can look up any flower you have and see if it’s edible. Anything used as a garnish should be edible. Please don’t put random flowers on food if you aren’t sure they are edible.
Since we live on the coast we have a greenhouse that provides us with beautiful tomatoes, lettuce and peppers in the summer and fall months. Peas and kale do well outside in our climate and are often featured in our salads.
