Stir Fried Cabbage With Fennel Seed

A great recipe for using garden cabbage. This can either be a side dish or a vegetarian main course. It's packed with flavor and is very easy to make. This recipe is naturally gluten free.

Materials

  • 1/4 Head Cabbage
  • 3 Tbls Ghee or Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Fennel Seeds
  • 1 tsp Sesame Seeds
  • 1 Large Onion
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne
  • 1 Tbls Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala

Instructions

  • Cut the cabbage into quarters. Cut the heart from one quarter with a diagonal slice. Cut the cabbage lengthwise into long, thin slices.
  • Peel the onion and cut it in half. Cut each half into thin slices.
  • Heat 3 Tbls ghee or oil in a large frying pan. Add the Cumin Seeds, Fennel Seeds and Sesame Seeds and cook until the seeds start to pop.
  • Add the onion, stir, cover and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the cabbage. stir, cover and cook for 6 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the Salt and Cayenne. Stir, cover and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the lemon juice and garam masala. Stir. Serve while hot.
