Stir Fried Cabbage With Fennel Seed
A great recipe for using garden cabbage. This can either be a side dish or a vegetarian main course. It's packed with flavor and is very easy to make. This recipe is naturally gluten free.

- 1/4 Head Cabbage
- 3 Tbls Ghee or Oil
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1/2 tsp Fennel Seeds
- 1 tsp Sesame Seeds
- 1 Large Onion
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Cayenne
- 1 Tbls Lemon Juice
- 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
Cut the cabbage into quarters. Cut the heart from one quarter with a diagonal slice. Cut the cabbage lengthwise into long, thin slices.
Peel the onion and cut it in half. Cut each half into thin slices.
Heat 3 Tbls ghee or oil in a large frying pan. Add the Cumin Seeds, Fennel Seeds and Sesame Seeds and cook until the seeds start to pop.
Add the onion, stir, cover and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the cabbage. stir, cover and cook for 6 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the Salt and Cayenne. Stir, cover and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the lemon juice and garam masala. Stir. Serve while hot.
