Prepare the Figs

First we will slice the tip off the figs and cut an ‘X’ half way down the figs. You’ll want nice ripe figs for this job. We’ll put the figs in a small greased baking pan.

Open the Figs Up

Then we’ll use our fingers to open the figs up like baby bird mouths waiting to be fed.

Olive Oil

Now we’ll drizzle a little olive oil into each fig. We want just about 1 teaspoon in each one.

Bake At 400°

Now we bake the figs at 400° Fahrenheit for 10 minutes. This will get the figs partially cooked and warmed up so we can stuff them with the chevre.

Stuff With the Chevre

After the figs have baked for 10 minutes we’ll take them out of the oven and press the goat cheese into them. We are using Cypress Grove Humboldt Fog chevre which is made just down the street from our home. You can use any goat cheese you like or even substitute blue cheese for this recipe.

Top With Pecans

Lastly we will top the figs with our chopped pecans.

Bake For 10 More Minutes
