Description

We show you how to make your own cannabis gummies at home. This can be very handy if you grow a plant or two or if you just want to make gummies from your favorite strain of flowers. You will know just what is in them! It is difficult to get the dosage absolutely perfect since there are several variables in that regard but we have found that with this recipe they come out fairly consistent.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/8 oz (3.5 g) Cannabis Flower
  • 3/4 cup Coconut Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Sunflower or Soy Lecithin
  • 2 oz Unflavored Gelatin
  • 1 Package (3 oz) Flavored Gelatin (Jello)

Instructions

  1. Decarboxylate the cannabis flower. Using a Sous Vide Precision Cooker, heat the flower to 203 degrees fahrenheit for 90 minutes. Put the flower into a sealed bag and make sure it stays completely submerged in the sous vide bath.
  2. Put the cannabis flower into a spice grinder and grind it up.
  3. Infuse the oil. Put 3/4 cup of coconut oil and the ground cannabis flower into a half pint jar with a lid. Stir well. Put the jar into the sous vide bath at 180 degrees fahrenheit for 4 hours.
  4. Strain the infused oil through cheesecloth to remove the plant material.
  5. Put 1/2 cup infused oil and 1/2 cup water into a small saucepan on medium low heat. Add 1/2 teaspoon of sunflower lecithin. Whisk and heat until it is all combined. DO NOT LET IT BOIL!
  6. Add the flavored and unflavored gelatin. Cook on low heat for 10 to 15 minutes stirring constantly until it starts to thicken.
  7. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a measuring cup or something with a pour spout.
  8. Pour the liquid into gummy molds.
  9. Put in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  10. Remove the gummies from the molds. Store in the freezer or wrap in parchment paper and store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Notes

Dosage will vary as there are quite a few variables. Starting with 3.5 grams of flower and using molds that hold 1 teaspoon these gummies are right around 5 milligrams apiece.
